Sushi Cute

Hehe.

This funky baby shower cake's design was inspired by a great jungle print fabric that I found. I frosted it in chocolate buttercream, and made the animals and flower with chocolate clay.

Just a note to any of you blog-reading marketgoers:
I won't be at the Hubbards Farmers Market on Saturday, July 18th.
My bro-in-law is tying the knot that day, so we'll be away celebrating.

See you July 25th!

My latest creation...for a wedding at Shining Waters Marina this past weekend. The top and bottom tiers were chocolate cake with chocolate filling and raspberry buttercream, and the middle tier was classic vanilla cake filled and covered with strawberry buttercream. The cake was wrapped in strips of sunset-colored fondant and painted with gold lustre dust.
It was large enough to serve 100+ people, and incredibly heavy to carry. Thanks for your help, Steve!

No more pencils, no more books...

It's officially summer, and graduates have celebrated!
I covered and decorated this cake with fondant. The grad cap was made out of chocolate which was then covered in black fondant also. I made the engineering ring with gumpaste and painted it silver with lustre dust.
I delivered it across the city to a home with THE MOST beautiful view of Halifax! I was delighted to find that it travelled well, even through construction zones :)
