My darling 11-year old cousin went bowling for her birthday, hence the matching cake(s)!
I covered the board with fondant, and just painted it with brown food color and vodka for the wood effect. A fun technique...something to play around with maybe!
The mini cakes are 2 cupcakes stacked together and frosted with buttercream--a bit less uniform than if they were covered with fondant, but tastier. The bowling ball, alas, was covered with black fondant.

Holy chocolate cake, Batman!

This was actually classic vanilla cake with fresh strawberry-vanilla buttercream filling...not at all what you'd expect from the outside! The bat is black gumpaste (edible) on a wire (not edible).

2009 Market Cupcakes

Um, I think I need a secretary. By the time I've actually sorted my photos, deleted all the goofy ones, and picked the postables, it's taken me WAY too long! I could actually be doing something productive and enjoyable instead...like reading. Or blogging. Or reading blogs.

These are just a few random cupcakes created for the market this spring. More to come!
